Aerial Lifts Training Program

Anybody who has been up in an aerial lift or elevated work platform knows that safe operating practices are a must. This program provides operators with the knowledge and skills they need to use this equipment safely and effectively.

Our 4 phased program meets the local and federal requirements for operator training and is delivered right at your worksite. We come to you to provide your operators with the most relevant training available. All of our sessions are for Vancouver Businesses.

Program Components

Phase 1: Theory Training

Each trainee participates in a 2-3 hour class that covers the rules and theory behind safe aerial lift operation. In the call they will learn about:

  • Types of aerial lifts
  • Federal and local regulations
  • Industry standards
  • Major components and inspections
  • Safety devices
  • Equipment stability characteristics
  • Safe work practices

Phase 2: Theory Evaluation

The CSA requires all operators to demonstrate their knowledge as part of their training. In this phase trainees demonstrate their knowledge by completing a written test. The evaluations are grade reviewed with the trainees.

Phase 3: Practical Training

Operators learn to inspect and use the equipment under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor. Safe practices leaned and skills are exhibited while using the equipment right at the worksite. Each operator will be able to demonstrate: An equipment inspection

  • A Workplace inspection
  • Safe travelling practices
  • Lifting and Lowering safely
  • Elevated working procedures
  • Parking and shutdown

Phase 4: Practical Evaluation

Trainees are evaluated on the skills they have learned. They will be asked to demonstrate several tasks similar to those they will be expected to perform at work. This method of training and evaluating is the most reliable way to assess how they will perform at work. After they finish all trainee are debriefed and made aware of their operational strengths and weaknesses.

Those who achieve a score of 80% become On-Site Certified Operators.
